MTB: Makara Peak Supporters Update
First, a big thank-you to Deneefe Signing Systems for manufacturing all the new signs. The quality (and price) is superb. If you need any specialist printing – here (http://makarapeak.us6.listmanage2.com/track/clicku=ec8abee9232d20497b5d957bd&id=1d477af1be&e=63906ef191) is their website.
Summer track building is going swimmingly on Peak Flow. It is still a construction site, so no riding (seriously you may come to an abrupt and painful stop). Having been down there on foot it is going to be rad when it is finished. Wide, smooth, flowy and basically as fast as you want to go. Not too much longer now.
Meanwhile the volunteer effort has gone into the first stage of Three Brothers – we are about 90 metres from having this stage knocked through with a bit of tidying up to follow. The next work parties are: Saturday 14 February, Thursday 19 February, Thursday 26 February and Saturday 28 February.
Makara Peak is a finalist in the Bikewise “Favourite Place to Ride” – voting here (http://makarapeak.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ec8abee9232d20497b5d957bd&id=f3d5817d43&e=63906ef191) (hint - vote for Makara).
Project Crimson had its 25th anniversary with a flash do at Government house. Project Crimson spend their time planting Pohutukawa and Rata through-out NZ. They undertake their work nationwide, and have been active around Wellington planting Rata around the Peak and other places like Tinakori Hill. To find out more, have a look around their website here (http://makarapeak.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ec8abee9232d20497b5d957bd&id=7f9ead3f9d&e=63906ef191 ) :
Lastly - here is a picture of a digger, because we like them. Pedal on.
