Location: Marais 
Closest Metro: There are several, but Rambuteau, Hotel de Ville, or Saint-Paul would work best.

Notes: All around the Marais there are great sights, sounds, tastes and experiences to be had. The archichture is diverse and includes Medieval examples alongside more modern apartments and community gardens. We used the self-guided walks in the "City Walks – Paris"  to steer us through the streets and lanes, which worked brilliantly.

Some of my favourite parts of the Marais include: Musee des Archives de Nationales, Rue Vieille du Temple, Rue des Rosiers, Hotel de Ville, Place des Vosges, Antoine & Lili where I bought my lovely navy blue linen dress, and wandering in and about all the small streets, parks and lanes. It's all really fantastic!
