Marche Belleville

Location: Along the median strip of Boulevard de Belleville, Paris 11

Metro stop: Belleville or Couronnes
Open: 7am-2:30pm Wednesday and Friday
I recommend the: I didn’t buy anything from here because I was running.

Notes: This is a very large market within the largely Arabic community of the north-east arrondissement 11. Spicy sausages, olives, preserved lemons, and other Arabic treats are in abundance, alongside fresh fruit and vegetables, and lots of seafood. This is one of Paris’ cheapest markets (largely due to the competition I'm guessing, as it’s huge!).

Start at Menilmontant and make your way through the kilometre of stalls. I suggest that you don’t carry a handbag or put your wallet in your pocket at this market becuse it's a narrow walkway between the stalls and it's crowded. Just take a shopping bag and stash some cash somewhere easy to keep track of.
